The AI-Assisted Keyword Research tool uses artificial intelligence to generate comprehensive, contextually-relevant keyword lists based on your topics.

Advantages over traditional generation:

  • Understands context and semantic relationships
  • Generates more natural, conversational keywords
  • Better for voice search and long-tail opportunities
  • Creates thematically grouped keywords

Creating an AI Keyword Campaign

Step 1: Access AI Keyword Generator

Click the AI Assisted Keyword Research tab within Keyword Research.

You’ll see the AI Keywords Generator interface with:

  • Input field (maximum 10 lines)
  • Campaign Name field
  • Select Research Type dropdown
  • Refresh Data and Start Generation buttons

Step 2: Enter Your Topics

In the Input field:

  • Enter your main topics, one per line
  • Maximum of 10 topics at a time
  • Be specific but not overly narrow

Example inputs:

coffee brewing methods

espresso machine maintenance

cold brew techniques

coffee bean origins

coffee grinder types

 

Important: One topic per line. The system accepts a maximum of 10 topics, which generates up to 5 research topics internally.

Step 3: Name Your Campaign

Enter a Campaign Name to identify this research session:

  • Use descriptive names
  • Include date or client name if relevant

Example: “Coffee Blog Keyword Research – Jan 2025”

Step 4: Select Research Type

Choose from the Select Research Type dropdown:

Main Keywords Research (default):

  • Broad, primary keywords
  • High-level topic keywords
  • Good for pillar content

FAQ & Question-Based Keywords:

  • Question format keywords
  • “How to”, “What is”, “Why does” patterns
  • Perfect for FAQ content and featured snippets

Natural Language & Voice Search Keywords:

  • Conversational phrases
  • Voice search optimized
  • Longer, more natural phrasing

Long-Tail Keywords Research:

  • Highly specific keyword phrases
  • Lower competition
  • Higher conversion potential

Example Selection: Choose “FAQ & Question-Based Keywords” if you’re creating an FAQ section or targeting featured snippets.

Step 5: Start Generation

Click the Start Generation button

The AI begins processing your topics and generates keywords in the background. You’ll see a summary like:

“Summary: 6 campaigns, 19 topics, 367 keywords generated”

This indicates:

  • 6 research campaigns created
  • 19 topics covered
  • 367 total keywords generated

Campaign Management Table

After generation, the Campaigns Management section displays all your research campaigns in a table:

Table Columns:

  • ID: Unique campaign identifier
  • Campaign Name: Your assigned name
  • Research Type: Badge showing the type (color-coded)
  • Topics: Number of topics covered
  • Keywords: Total keywords generated
  • Created: Date and timestamp
  • Actions: View Topics and Delete buttons

Example entries:

The header shows “6 campaigns” button indicating total campaigns created.

Research Type Color Coding:

  • Green badges: Main Keywords Research
  • Red badges: FAQ & Question-Based Keywords
  • Orange badges: Natural Language & Voice Search Keywords
  • Blue badges: Long-Tail Keywords Research

Viewing Campaign Topics and Keywords

To view keywords from a campaign:

  1. Click the blue View Topics button for the desired campaign
  2. A detailed view opens showing:
    • Each topic within the campaign
    • Keywords generated for that topic
    • Keyword metrics (if available)

Each topic has its own keywords table with:

  • Column visibility controls
  • Rows display options
  • Export functionality
  • Search box for filtering

Example workflow:

  1. Click “View Topics” on “First Campaign”
  2. See Topic 1: “coffee brewing methods” with 15 keywords
  3. See Topic 2: “espresso machine maintenance” with 16 keywords
  4. Export keywords for Topic 1 to use in subdomain creation
  5. Use the search box to find specific keyword patterns

Refresh Data Button: If a campaign is still generating, use the Refresh Data button to update the display with newly generated keywords.

Exporting AI-Generated Keywords

For each topic within a campaign:

Column visibility: Choose which data columns to display Show 25 rows: Select how many keywords to show per page Export options:

  1. Copy to clipboard
  2. Export as CSV (full table)
  3. Export keywords only (CSV)
  4. Export visible columns (CSV)

Search functionality: Filter keywords containing specific terms

Example: If you’ve generated FAQ keywords about coffee, you can search for “how to” to see only question keywords starting with that phrase.

Deleting Research Campaigns

To remove a campaign:

  1. Click the red Delete button next to the campaign
  2. Confirm deletion
  3. The campaign and all its keywords are permanently removed

When to delete:

  • Test campaigns no longer needed
  • Duplicate research sessions
  • Outdated keyword sets

Best Practices for AI Keyword Research

  1. Be Specific with Topics

Instead of broad terms, use focused topics:

  • ❌ “marketing”
  • ✅ “email marketing automation for ecommerce”
  1. Use Different Research Types Strategically

Create multiple campaigns with different research types for the same niche:

  • Campaign 1: Main Keywords Research (for pillar content)
  • Campaign 2: FAQ & Question-Based (for featured snippets)
  • Campaign 3: Long-Tail Research (for conversion pages)
  1. Batch Similar Topics

Group related topics in one campaign:

  • Coffee brewing methods, grind sizes, water temperature, brew time
  • All related to coffee brewing education
  1. Review and Refine

After generation:

  • Review keywords for relevance
  • Remove any off-topic suggestions
  • Group similar keywords for content planning
  1. Use for Content Planning

The AI-generated keywords are excellent for:

  • Creating editorial calendars
  • Planning subdomain topics
  • Identifying content gaps
  • Understanding user intent

Example Complete Workflow:

Scenario: Building a coffee education website

Step 1: Create Main Keywords campaign

  • Topics: coffee basics, brewing methods, equipment
  • Generate 100+ primary keywords

Step 2: Create FAQ campaign

  • Same topics but FAQ research type
  • Generate question-based keywords for FAQ pages

Step 3: Create Long-Tail campaign

  • Specific product and technique topics
  • Generate conversion-focused keywords

Step 4: Export all campaigns

  • Group keywords by intent
  • Map keywords to subdomain structure
  • Create 20 subdomains covering all keyword groups
