Understanding Customer Management

The Customer Management function allows you to efficiently organize and track backlink campaigns for different clients. Each customer can have multiple campaigns assigned to them, making it easy to manage agency operations or multiple projects.

Purpose: Organize backlink campaigns by customer/client, track customer-specific work, and generate reports for individual clients.

Adding a New Customer

Navigate to Project Management → Manage Project to access customer management.

To create a new customer:

  1. Ensure the Existing Customer checkbox is unchecked
  2. Enter the customer name in the New customer name field
  3. Click the Save changes button

The customer will be immediately added to your system and available for campaign assignment.

Example Use Case: If you’re managing backlink campaigns for “ABC Dental Clinic,” simply enter “ABC Dental Clinic” as the customer name and save. All future backlink campaigns can then be assigned to this customer.

Modifying an Existing Customer

To change a customer name or manage existing customer data:

  1. Enable the Existing Customer checkbox
  2. Select the customer from the dropdown menu
  3. The system displays:
    • A Customer Name Change input box
    • A list of all campaigns currently assigned to that customer

To rename a customer:

  • Enter the new customer name in the Customer Name Change box
  • Click Save Changes
  • The customer name updates throughout the entire system

Example: Changing “John’s Company” to “John’s Marketing Agency” will update the customer name across all associated campaigns, reports, and backlink records.

Deleting a Customer

When a customer is no longer with your project:

  1. Select the customer using the Existing Customer dropdown
  2. Enable the Delete checkbox
  3. Click the Delete Customer button

Important: This action permanently removes:

  • The customer record
  • All backlink campaigns assigned to that customer
  • All generated backlinks for that customer

Warning: This is a destructive operation that cannot be undone. Make sure you’ve backed up any necessary data before deleting a customer.

Transferring Campaigns Between Customers

While there’s no direct transfer function shown, you can reassign campaigns by:

  1. Creating a new customer
  2. Deleting the old customer and reassigning their campaigns during the deletion process (if supported)
  3. Or manually recreating campaigns under the new customer
